Is this starting to become a trend? Being creative with heels. The first time I saw some designer (don’t know which one anymore) was creative with the heel, my thoughts were quite positive. Now, when every designer seems to do something creative with the heel, it’s getting a bit annoying.
Latest addition I bumped into is from Sergio Rossi. A spiral heel sandal. Looks to me something very bad happened to the heel when you wear these sandals. If you are ever able to walk on these. Looks very unpractical. In my opinion this screams for a shoe crime.
Sometimes I receive a linktip from someone pointing to a very special shoe. Well, this Moshino shoes are quite special. Too bad the size is not mentioned at the website, it’s still a bit pricey and also I don’t have anything to wear with it.
Ever wondered how high a heel should go for you? Well, a while ago a British physics expert created a formula to calculate that. Important key in this formula is your Q factor. Q is the sociological factor, more subjective than mathematical, encompasses several variables and gets a bit complicated. That’s why I made the whole formula a bit more understandable and incorporated it all into the Heel-O-Meter. Please, don’t take it all too seriously.
Thanks Eddy for getting the article back to my attention!
I’m still figuring out what I did when I stepped out of the car this morning. Point is, my left white classic stiletto pump broke down. Well, it didn’t actually break, but it did bend a bit. I can’t walk on it. A very helpfull colleague tried to fix the heel, but it didn’t work. Fortunately I did already own these stiletto’s for quite some time and were not that expensive. But they were very comfortable.
I guess I’ll have to buy a new pair of white classic stiletto pumps.
The Museum of Footwear in the Italian city of Vigevano has organized an itinerant exhibition which is shown in the Museo del Traje. CIPE in Madrid, Spain, charting the history of footwear with stilettos as the star. It includes creations by top labels such as Prada, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo.
The exhibition runs already for a while and will be until August 30. So, if you’re in the neighborhood this summer holiday, make a detour to the museum.
